About SlothCal

A scheduling tool that has absolutely no business existing, and yet here we are.

The Origin Story

SlothCal was born over two evenings, fueled by an unreasonable amount of coffee, a complete disregard for best practices, and the unshakeable belief that the world needed yet another scheduling tool. The entire thing was 100% vibe-coded — no grand architecture documents, no sprint planning, no Jira tickets. Just vibes.

The idea was simple: Calendly exists, Cal.com exists, and they're both great. But what if there was a version that was built at ludicrous speed by one person who kept saying"this will only take five minutes" and was wrong every single time? That's SlothCal. A scheduling platform assembled with the structural integrity of a house of cards, but somehow, against all odds, it actually works.

Every feature you see — Google Calendar sync, timezone handling, booking confirmations, the cute sloth mascot — was conjured into existence through the ancient art of describing what you want and then watching code materialize out of thin air. No stack overflow copy-pasting. No tutorials. Just pure, unfiltered conversation with a machine that is disturbingly good at writing software.

On AI and the Future of Building Things

Here's the thing nobody talks about enough: we're living through a genuine inflection point. The tools available to builders right now are unlike anything that existed even a year ago. A single person with an idea and an evening to spare can now ship what used to require a team of engineers and weeks of work. That's not hype — SlothCal is literal proof of it.

AI didn't replace the human in this equation. It amplified one. Every decision about what to build, how it should feel, and what matters to users — that's all human. The AI just made it possible to go from "what if" to "here it is" in hours instead of months. And that changes everything. Not in some vague, futuristic, hand-wavy way. Right now. Today. This is the beginning of something very different, and if you're not paying attention, you're going to be very surprised very soon.

The barrier between having an idea and shipping it has never been lower. That excites us. It should excite you too.

Who Made This?

SlothCal is a side project by Tommi, who should probably be spending his evenings doing something more responsible but apparently chose to build a scheduling platform named after the world's slowest animal instead. No regrets.

Built with vibes, coffee, and a questionable sense of priorities.
